Welcome to FIYAHCON 2021

Andi C. Buchanan

Andi C. Buchanan is a non-binary, disabled humanoid, living among streams and faultlines, just outside of Wellington, Aotearoa New Zealand.

Their recent novella, From A Shadow Gravewinner of a Sir Julius Vogel award, uses a historical murder as a launching point into narratives of multiple possible futures, deploying urban fantasy, historical fiction, time travel and more. They’re currently working on the Windflower series – cosy witchy f/f novellas set in Aotearoa alongside a longer work to be announced soon.

Andi’s short fiction is published or forthcoming in Lightspeed, Fireside, Mermaids Monthly, Apex, and more. They love fiction about weird sea creatures and building better worlds, and may be the only person left who enjoyed pandemic stories as a child and still does. They can be bribed with cheese.
